Great Campsite in a Good Area
A really nice campsite, very tidy with good pitches. The showers and toilets were very clean and warm. Lots of hot water. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. Dog friendly (free for dogs). 10 min walk to Braithwaite where we found 2 pubs with great food. Just a couple of miles from Keswick centre, not even 10mins to drive.

Fantastic campsite. Being on the long trip for a couple of days in the row at end of August we slept every night in different place. That one was only one place in lake district that nice and also allowed us to have a campfire. Small, charmfull campsite, not overloaded as others, very tidy and clean, plenty of space for tents, very green, toilets and showers clean and well managed. That was the best one we stayed on these days. I`ve added it to my list for future

We stayed at Thornthwaite for a week in our Vw camper, the hard standings are perfect for vans of all sizes, even huge great types. The main guy and his family were really accommodating and were able to help with all questions. I had read previously that some people were concerned about the toilets or lack of them, whilst there is only 3 or 4 I found that quite enough and they were always spotlessly clean, I think anyone who is maybe concerned needs to re think the type of campsite they are staying on or wait maybe 2 or 3 minutes. Phone signal is non existent but adds to the remote feel of the site. I would visit again.

Our favourite Lake District campsite
This is a very well run campsite, small but with everything you need. We were an extended family of 8. We were on the EHU area which feels pleasantly informal, with individual pitches spaced on levelled areas on a sloping field with areas of trees and wild flowers, and there was plenty of room for us to pitch our tents close enough together without being cramped at all. There’s great walking from the campsite, and Keswick is just down the road. We’ll be back!
